Dan Mazur – Nepal/Tibet Liason Mgr.
Dan holds a PhD. degree in Urban Planning. He has summited Mt. Everest multiple times and is employed by Summit Trek where he leads climbing and walking trips to Nepal and Tibet. Through the Mt. Everest Foundation for Sustainable Development in Nepal and Tibet (MEFSD), he has built schools and health clinics for local families in remote districts of Nepal.
Garry Porter – Project Manager
Garry is a retired Boeing Company Program manager with over 34 years of engineering/program management experience. He holds a MS degree in engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska.
Robert Spurrell – Technical Manager
Bob has a BS degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington and a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. At Weyerhaeuser Company, he served as Technology Development Manager, R&D Director, and Senior Engineer. Bob has written various technical papers concerning bio-mass conversion to energy. He holds patents in aeronautics, energy, and packaging.
Michael Marsolek – Research
Mike is an Asst. Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seattle University, with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. He has experience operating lab-scale bioreactors and testing biogas potential of different digester feeds.
Ari has a PhD in bioengineering from the Univerisity of Washington. He is assisting the project with experimental design and research on biogas designs.

Nate Janega – Head of Design/Model Team
Nate Janega is a current graduate student in the Dept. of Civil Environmental Engineering at UW. He has been interested in biogas technology since earning his BA in Biochemistry from Grinnell College. He is responsible for the technical design of the greenhouse.
Mike Eliason – Architects without Borders
Mike is the representative from the Seattle Architects without Borders and a critical team member to the design of the greenhouse.
Carmen Cejudo – Ecotope, Inc. Representative
President Engineers Without Borders, Puget Sound Professional Chapter and is part of the design team for the greenhouse.
Tom and Jan have worked as IT managers for 20+ years. They serve the team as IT support.
Courtney O’Neill
As the project proceeds, Courtney will provide the design support for the water collection system.
Anthony Cutler
Helped with preliminary energy modelling of digester and greenhouse.
Mingma is a resident of the Gorak Shep area, where he manages trekking and climbing expeditions. Mingma serves as one of our key liasons to the community, which offers us the valuable insight concerning the need for our project and its anticipated impact.
